Ayuugaak (Law of the Raven, developed by his late father, Chief Roy Azak)

Mr. Azak was appointed as Chair to the Wilp Wilxo’oskwhl Nisga’a Institute Board of Directors in 2010 by Nisga’a Lisims Government.

Mr. Azak worked in the resource industry for a number of years at Sunnyside Cannery, Terrace saw mill and BC Hydro Rights of Way clearing. Mr. Azak joined the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and retired as a Sergeant with 22 years’ experience and received the RCMP Long Service Medal.

He attended the University of British Columbia and graduated with his Bachelor of Education, and served as the Advisor on Multiculturalism in the RCMP organization.

Upon his retirement, Mr. Azak served as the Chief Executive Officer for Gitwinksihllkw Village Government. He is now the Manager, Education and Housing Services for Gitwinksihlkw Village Government.

Mr. Azak has served on a number of Boards and Committees during his years of service to community, including the Nisga’a Lisims Government Building Committee, School District No.92 (Nisga’a) Board of Directors, Gitwinksihlkw Housing Committee, Gitwinksihlkw Education Committee, Gitwinksihlkw Yule Tide Committee, Gitwinksihlkw Athletic Club.

Mr. Azak loves to hunt and fish, and still uses a World War II rifle, the trusty Lee Enfield .303 British rifle.
